WE WERE VERY IMPRESSED. SPUR OF THE MOMENT WAS A PLACE I WOULD CALL HOME...SWEET DREAMS, I WAS A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED. BED SPREAD HAD DOG HAIR, AND WASN'T AS NICE AS SPUR OF THE MOMENT. WE HAVE ALREADY TOLD SEVERAL PEOPLE ABOUT THE CABINS. THANKS SO MUCH , WE ABSOLUTELY HAD A WONDERFUL TIME. FELT LIKE A HOME AWAY FROM HOME. The cabin was everything I expected and more! I look forward to going back again with my entire family! It was a wonderful place to spend my 1 year anniversary.
Enjoyed our stay at Elk Springs Resort, we were there to celebrate our daughter's birthday, so we had 6 kids with us. The location was close to town. We had some difficulty finding it as we arrived in the dark. I cooked many meals and felt the kitchen needed hot pads, trivets and cookie sheets to complete the kitchen utensils. The cabin needed to be spruced up prior to our arrival as there were many dead bugs along the window sills. Overall, the cabin was nice and our stay was enjoyable. I would recommend the resort to friends and family.
My family and I stayed four nights and loved it. We had a small issue at first but the staff there took care of everything and made our stay delightful. We look forward to visiting again.
Since this was our first trip to the area, my wife researched cabins for a long time before booking. Cleanliness, the quality of the furnishings, draining of the hot-tub, views, were all high priorities. We were NOT DISAPPOINTED with all of these things at Elk Springs! We had a relaxing 6 nights at Spur of the Moment. Normally we love to eat out, but we loved being at the cabin so much that we cooked in a good bit. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed. The beds were super comfy. The fireplaces were cozy. Our 11 year old son played pool A LOT! We did enjoy several shows/ attractions at night, but the most enjoyable times of our trip were spent just relaxing, reading, playing at the cabin. We will be back. The only complaint we have is that loud banging noise when we ran hot water in the rain shower or heart tub! It was annoying, but we didn't feel like calling maintenance. I had read other comments about the noise... it is LOUD. We will be back and will share Elk Springs with our friends and family!
Gorgeous cabin and very spacious. A bunch of friends all came from OH for the weekend. Couldn't of asked for a better cabin. I would definitely go back and stay there/bigger cabin again! LOVED IT!
We found Elk Springs in an online search and didn't have much to go off of but the website. It turned out to be even better than anticipated! The cabin was beautiful. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The cabin was in the perfect location, a beautiful section of the arts and crafts district, and 5 min. from the heart of Gatlinburg. We will be back and have recommended Elk Springs to all our family and friends!
This was our first vacation stay at a cabin and WOW was it wonderful! There is something mystical about the cabin area and we enjoyed it all. We had no problems unloading and loading the motorcycle off a trailer, just as Andy told me (and glad he recommended plywood for the stand). The weather was really wet during our visit, but we had no problems. Our next visit, I believe I would request a cabin with a fully covered deck, just in case it rains(even though the view might not be as good).Simply put, a wonderful vacation!
cabins should be more kids friendly..
My husband and I couldn't have dreamed of a better honeymoon. We loved the location, how close it was to gatlinburg, pigeon forge, and sevierville. We loved how secluded it was in the woods. We really loved everything about our stay!
The cabin was very good but the water in the cabin was running very slow so only one person an take the shower at a time so it messed up over schedule
Thank you for the review. There was a pump failure with the city water that caused the low pressure on the water main from the city. This has been resolved and we have't seen any more low pressure problems. Sorry for the inconvenience and we hope you choose to stay with us in Gatlinburg again!
We all really loved the cabin and can't wait to go back. The only things that could have made are stay even better were if there were more mixing and serving bowls in the kitchen and if the ceiling fans were cleaned because they were a little dusty. Beside that our stay was awesome and we are all ready making plans for coming back next Thanksgiving. Thank you Elk Springs Resort.
Our cabin was much better than we expected! The pictures online don't do this place justice. We took a family vote and this was our best family vacation ever! Without a doubt we will be back!!
outside hot tub had very weak jets, bed in master bedroom very loose..needs attention. But aside from those 2 issues we very much enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others.
We all enjoyed the stay at the cabin very much. The only suggestion I would like to make is the advertisement mentions a pool that can be used by guests. I had a hard time finding the pool and did not realize there is a small fee to use the pool. It is only $2.00 per person. It would have been nice to know the fee ahead of time and directions. All in all, the cabin was excellent. My husband and I want to come back alone!
Master bathroom was not very clean; need a few more pots/pans for cooking. Overall was a great place to stay.
I gave the property manager a five star rating even though I never had to talk to them. It was so easy that I never went by an office!

We had an Awesome time at "Spur of the Moment" cabin. Everything was as advertised and we were not disapointed at all. We had a wonderful weekend and would love to return. Location was great and easy to get to compared to other cabins we have stayed at. Just some comments that would have made a outstanding stay better. Some furniture in the master suite would have been nice. While the closet was large there was no place to put folded clothing or even a suitcase rack for luggage. My wife used the floor and I used the foosball table outside the bedroom door.Nightstand(s) with lamps would have been a nice improvement. I found it difficult to find the light switch by the entrance door in the middle of the night amongst the switches for fan, fireplace and lights. With just one recessed light above the sink in the master suite it was hard to see to shave. More lighting in this area would be a great addition. We loved the big screen TV/DVD player in the rec room area, problem was the TV sat back so far you practically had to stand up everytime you wanted to use the remote. The main entrance way could use a shade/blind or some thing to allow a little privacy for anyone using the sleeper/sofa on the main floor. Housekeeping should also check the ice maker between visitors. We found all the ice frozen in a ball and the dispenser not working. We just took it out and let it thaw, cleaned it and it worked perfectly the rest of our stay. None of these things affected our enjoyment of the cabin, but attention to the small details is what keeps people coming back again and again. You've got a great start, just keep up the good work. Elk Springs is the elite in cabin rentals. The cabin we rented was very clean, well maintained, and beautiful. Management staff made it very easy on us. Have already recommended it to friends. We plan on returning again and again...

We absolutely are going to use Elk Springs everytime we go to Gatlinburg. My husband and I were so impressed with our cabin, it made our anniversary so wonderful! The cabin was so clean and spotless that we thought it was brand new. I loved it and will definitely be returning in the future.
I was so pleased with our stay at The Spur of the Moment! My husband and I wanted to get away for some alone time and escape and this was absolutely the peace and quiet we needed. The cabin was beautiful and had everything we needed. Even though there were other cabins in the area, we felt like we had the privacy and space we wanted. We cannot say enough about this cabin and the resort itself! We have already booked a weekend in April to bring our family all together and celebrate our sons 2nd birthday! Can't wait to see yall then!

Cell signals are spotty. Cabins need working phone lines available at a charge in the event of an emergency.
Great rain shower, Great view, GREAT cabin! The kids loved the queen bunk beds and the games! The only temporary drawback I can think of is it is one of the newest cabins on the property, and they are building a couple cabins on the same side street, so it is currently on a gravel road. We had an awesome time and plan on returning as soon as we can.
Loved the cabin. Very clean. Great arts/craft loop, close to town and park. Could use a few basic supplies...broom, dustpan, and can opener especially. My kids loved the Foosball table...probably gonna have to buy one for home! Supertall rain shower was fun.
The Cabin was nice, however the hot water tank froze, so my stay was short lived. The staff was very helpfull in moving me to a different cabin.

The overall stay was lovely. We did have an issue with loud noise coming from the pipes everytime we turned on the water in the shower or tub. Probably air in pipes. So loud you could actually hear it down the road! We didn't report it because we didn't want workers in the cabin while we stayed there. Also the hinges on both bedroom and bathroom doors squeaked loudly which would wake someone up if sleeping. The name of our city is Punta Gorda NOT Petagora, FL. Please correct(we will plan to come again because we love the area)
It was fun stay for the family. I just wish it was little closer to the NP and downtown.
Was a great stay at a great place! Very clean, and roomy! The peace and quiet was so needed and I would recommend this resort to anyone. The only negative thing is that it wouldn't be a great place for young children. There is not really any where on the immediate property for them to get out and "play". Otherwise, for couples or groups wanting to get away from it all, this is the place to do it!
Hi John, thanks for the kind comments, we try hard to keep our units clean and in great shape. We have a valley in the center of the resort where kids can play. We enjoyed the cabin, the rainshower, and the deck. There were lady bugs in the cabin - can't be helped in the woods. Overall, this was a wonderful property - great access to the town and the Park - would definitely recommend staying there.
When we arrived at 6:15pm, the office was closed. The owner of the Restuarant came outside and gave us a phone number to call. She said this happens often. The confirmation email said they were open until 9:00 pm on Fridays. This did not make a very good first impression. we had to wait about 10 minutes for someone to come and give us the code and direct us to our cabin. The cabin was beautiful and well equiped. The only problem we had with the cabin was three of the pool sticks were missing the leather tips and there was a loose tile in the shower.

Our family loved our stay at Spur of the Moment. Our only concerns were the slight odor of mildew in the shower (it must be hard to clean with the height) and we did have a slight reaction to the amount of chlorine in the hot tub. Additionally, the unpaved road made it difficult to traverse through the mud. Overall, the experience was great and we plan to come back. I have referred the resort to a friend and look forward to another visit.
