  My wife and I wanted somewhere to escape from our busy lives to enjoy a weekend alone and celebrate our anniversary. Diamond Mine did not disappoint! The process of renting and checking-in/out was very simple and the staff were pleasant and professional. The cabin was very nice and clean as advertised. The whole trip was perfect. We are already planning a return trip to Elk Springs Resort!

  We recently stayed in the diamond mine as two couples. Initially after reading some of the comments we were a little bit skeptical but when we got there we were thrilled and fell in love with the cabin. The cabin is just as described in the pictures. It was very clean and well maintained. The heater worked like a charm would only take seconds to heat up the entire cabin. This cabin has it's own driveway which others did not have. I was very happy with my stay, so much that I'm already beginning to save money for my next trip. One of the things I really liked was being able to check in without having to go to an office, they just call you and give you a code to enter in the door and it's that simple. There were only two cons, the grill didn't heat up properly only the back half of the grill worked and I wish the rear windows had blinds but that is just being picky. The cabin was definitely private, and had one of the most private Jacuzzi's out of the ones we drove past. We went in the 2nd week of December and the community was quiet. Sitting in the Jacuzzi it was hard to see the cabins to the left and to the right, making it very romantic and private. The house was also well stocked w/ plenty of silverware and plates and pots and pans.
  I would highly recommend this cabin, I have shown pictures to friends and they are now interested in going as well which says a lot for this cabin.

  This cabin is way more beautiful than the pictures. It's cozy, spacious, and in a quiet location away from the ridiculousness of Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge. We reserved the cabin when they were updating the website, got it for $68/night for 7 nights. The next day it went to about 2.5 times the price, but they still gave us the ridiculously low rate. LOVED our time in the cabin...take a loved one and snuggle up with some bourbon and a good movie.

  Really enjoyed property. Nice view of woods from back porch. Beds were not the best and the gas grill is on it's last leg. Great kitchen. Comfortable furniture. favorite spot was rocking chairs on back porch; just wish there was a table to eat on at the porch. Right close to everything.

  The cabin was great and so was the setting. I had no problems with checking in or out. The place was very clean and comfortable. Only problem I had was my wife got a rash from the hot tub. Besides that her and I enjoyed the stay and will surely return to Elks Resort in the future.

  We were supposed to stay at the 5 bedroom Lumberjack Lodge in Elk Springs Resort for one week..However, the property was foreclosed on before we got there, so management moved us to another 5 bedroom called Misty Mt. Lodge for 5 days, then split us up into two groups- one group in The Diamond Mine, and another group in Mt. Fever. I didn't like the fact we were split up, but management was great on giving us a deal. The foreclosure was beyond Elk Springs control, so we understand their position and thank them for making the transition smoothly. All three cabins we stayed in were absolutely wonderful. The amenities each cabin had were really nice. The upkeep was top notch, and I really enjoyed the theatre rooms in the cabins, plus the pool tables, card tables, air hockey, etc. If we go to the Smoky Mountains again, no matter what size our group, I will absolutely go back to Elk Springs Resort.

  I WANTED TO BUY THIS PLACE AS A VACATION HOME. IT WAS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL LOCATION AND HOME. I TOOK CLEANING SUPPLIES THINKING I MIGHT HAVE TO CLEAN AND IT WAS SPOTLESS AND EVERYTHING BUT WASHING DETERGENT WAS SUPPLIED (WHICH I TOOK ANYWAY). I EVEN TOOK DISHWASHER TABLETS AND THEY ALREADY HAD SOME FOR ME THERE. I HAD NEVER SEEN A PLACE SO CLEAN. ME AND MY FAMILY CAME HOME HEARTBROKEN AND WANTED TO GO BACK. USUALLY WE STAY GONE BUT WE STAYED ALOT AT THE CABIN AND SHOT POOL AND MY KIDS WERE LEARNING HOW TO SHOOT POOL ALSO BEFORE WE LEFT. THE HOT TUB WAS EXTRA CLEAN AND KIDS STAYED IN EVERY EVENING SO THERE WAS ALOT TO OCCUPY THEIR TIME. COULDN'T ASK FOR A BETTER STAY IN GATLINBURG... THANKS FOR EVERYTHING.

  I rented this house with 5 friends for a long weekend in the Smokies. It was perfect for us: easy access to the national park yet still in a quiet area away from the Gatlinburg strip; wonderful house in great condition; hot tub and grill; full kitchen; 5 minutes from a grocery store. The only thing I would change about the resort’s setup would be to increase the size of the lots so that the rental houses are not so close together. However, we visited early in the season (beginning of May), so the proximity of our neighbors was irrelevant—we didn't even see anyone next door. I hope to be back again very soon!

  Everything that was offered through the web site matched the property 110% The cabin was spotless when we arrived, it made you confortable to walk in & sit down before unpacking.The cabin is in a perfect location, close to all of the attractions. The maintenance workers are very friendly & show up shortly after calling for them (light the fireplace pilot, trash pick up). Also the property manager was very helpful when needed.I will return to this cabin for my next family vacation.

  The only concern i had was that the windows in the front of the cabin did not have blinds. We ended up having to hang our towels to allow for privacy, especially since we had neighbors on both sides. Other than this, everything was excellent!

  My wife, two young children and I really enjoyed the cabin. It is more convenient and spacious than a hotel room - I wish I could find more cabins like this at other fun mountain towns like Asheville. It is a great way to "get away" from the kids at the end of the day instead of being cramped into a hotel room or worrying about them being in a separate room. The property was very clean and had sufficient amenities (pots, pans, kitchen towels, etc.). It was a bit noisy as the cabins are all wood (floors, walls, ceiling) and don't have much floor insulation. The cabin could also use some curtains. But the wrap-around porch, rocking chairs, hot tub on the porch and pool table were all a great way to relax. And maybe your son will keep saying, "Daddyman, it looks like a Lincoln Log house."

    Hi Matt, We are in the process of our spring cleaning and are making progress. We do are concerned about the appearnce! We appreciate your feedback. Update on hillsides: We are still recovering from the drought conditions 2 summers ago. Our grass is finally starting to grow. Come May you will see much more green that should last all year. We are investing significantly in the natural landscaping and are addressing the excavated areas with seed, straw and hydroseed. Hope to see you again and thanks for staying with us!

  This is actually my second stay in a rental cabin in the smokeys. The Diamond Mine was a great choice! We found it easy to get to, clean and well supplied. Thank you for making a spring break vacation relaxing and stress free. Our son will be a senior in highschool next year and will do a senior trip so this last spring break vacation with him was very important to us.

  My answers noted above would be mostly 1's instead of 5's had it not been for the actions of your property manager. Here's what ocurred:
  On trying to check in at the office we found it was CLOSED. A note on the door gave 2 #s to call to get the security code. ist # went to "mailbox full".2nd # no one answered, left voicemail for callback. No callback for 30 minutes. Drove to property (Diamond Mine). Waited another 30 min. Prop manager called and gave us entry code. Went in to discover cabin was filthy, beds unmade, food on floor hottub putrid. (cabin had obviously not been cleaned). Called back Prop.Man.He was very polite and apologetic. He called back in 10 minutes and told us he was moving us to another cabin, MOUNTAIN FEVER (3 BR). Ratings above apply to this cabin. We had an incredible stay and have told everyone that Elk Springs property mangers know how to reverse a bad experience quickly. In fact I'm getting ready to call and reserve Mountain Fever again for my whole family in May.

  We had SUCH A GREAT TIME!! It was exactly what we were looking for and Whitney/Jessica couldn't have been more helpful. The cabin was perfect and the location was just as perfect.   The only complaint I have is about the location of the cabin. It was a nice distance from Gatlinburg, however, the cabins were too close together. I didn't like looking off of our deck onto other cabin decks. There was not any privacy while we were out on the deck. Otherwise, we enjoyed our rental experience with Elk Springs.

  I would have liked the cabins to be a little bit more private than having them right next to one another. The cabin next door to us had alot of college students that had a party that night with very loud music. We could not enjoy our hot tub outside or our rocking chairs because of the music. Those were our only complaints though, because the cabin itself was great.

  no trash cans in bathrooms, trash can in kitchen was very dirty and smelled. smaller kitchen trash can would be better so it could be put under the sink. Remote Controls didn't have good batteries in them.
